Summary:

Under general supervision, supervises and responds to all activities of emergency services and actively participates in restoration services. Essential responsibilities/tasks: (illustrative, not inclusive)

  • Professionally represent the Paul Davis principles of honesty and integrity.
  • Serves as the point person and first responder for every assigned emergency loss.
  • Establishes and records the scope of work to be accomplished.
  • Coordinates, supervises, and actively participates with the work on Emergency Water/Fire/Smoke Services (to include deodorization, board-ups, and securing structure).
  • Oversees equipment maintenance and expendables (to include maintaining MSDS sheets on assigned vehicle).
  • Communicates with management and customers.
  • Supervises and works alongside emergency services technicians on assigned vehicle and jobs.
  • Maintains relationship with adjusters (if needed) and communicates updates.
  • Performs on-call rotation as needed.
  • Completes jobs successfully and obtains certificate of completion.
  • Able to climb a ladder.
  • Able to lift at least 75 pounds.
  • Able to work in confined spaces.
  • Able to work around a variety of approved chemicals without any adverse reaction or sensitivity.
  • Follows established safety practices including the proper use of PPE when required.
  • Participate in the collection process.

IICRC Certifications Required:

A Crew Chief must hold or obtain the following certifications:

  • Water Restoration, ASD, Fire & Smoke

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of practices and procedures of water, fire, and mold trades.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, solutions, and use of solvents.
  • Ability to keep abreast of techniques and preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Ability to use and maintain hand, power, and truck mounted tools.
  • Ability to provide cost estimate information.
  • Ability to develop, learn, and properly apply operating and work procedures.
  • Ability to plan and organize work.
  • Ability to read and interpret written and/or oral instructions.
  • Ability to communicate oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to meet predetermined deadlines.
  • Ability to safely move and relocate heavy objects.
  • Ability to exercise judgment when to act independently and when to refer situations to an administrator.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with employees, contractors/vendors, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods.

Possession of a valid Ontario G class Driver’s License and a clean driving record is required at the time of hiring and must be maintained while employed at PDS. A police check will be conducted before any employment commences.
